I learned two things from Tiffany today:
First, Chirac is Saddam's whore:
Last month we accused Chirac of behaving like a worm. Today we say to the people of France: we did not go far enough. Your president is not just a worm. He has behaved like a Paris harlot.
It's in the newspaper, so it must be true.
Second, the French actually have a law making it illegal to insult their President. A person found guilty of the crime can be fined up to 45,000 Euros (I think a Euro runs about 95 cents nowadays, so bump that up to a cool $50,000 U.S.). Now that just underscores for me that the Sun is telling the truth. One can insult Chirac so long as one is preapred to pay a middle five-figure fine. Not a very high price for the dignity of one's President, is it? How much would that right sell for on eBay?
Of course, here in the civilzed world, the right to insult one's President is priceless. One more important difference between the U.S. and Old Europe.

That is one of the most erroneous comments I have ever encountered. Just because a publication prints something does not mean it is entirely factual. Does everyone believe everything printed in the National Enquirer"? I seriously doubt it. Secondly, there is no reason to hate the French people. You can dislike their government all you want, but to say you hate every French person makes you an ignorant racist.
Please, be a little more open-minded. There are other opinions out there that are just as valid as yours. You need to learn to respect that.
Since the French are not a race, such as asian, black, white, etc hating them isn't racist. Also, a huge majority of the French are behind their fucked up and ignorant government. So attacking their governments stupid decisions brings them out of the woodwork to defend their hero Chiraq, making it ok to deride the french.

Yo, Katrina... Chirac is the French government. And frankly, humorous exaggeration aside, the only French people I rensent are the ones who resent us.... like Chirac.
And you might want to tune up your sarcasm detectors a notch or two on the "it must be true."
