Roland 3 missiles. Radios. RPG nightvision scopes. Nissan pick-up trucks. Silverware. Gauloise and Gitane cigarettes. Underwear.
What do all these things have in common? They were all sold illegally to Iraq by the french. I didn't realize underwear was illegal in France, but it turns out that it was clean underwear, thus explaining the sanctions against it.
Americans have found all of these items in Iraq. Now, according to french officials, they were all sold on "the black market". Since french people are really honest, we know that this has to be true. So how can we then logically explain the appearance of all these items in Iraq, and still maintain the truthfulness of the always honest french government? Why the answer is simple!
France has re-named its entire commerce section "The Black Market".
Sadly, this explanation is more reasonable than most of the stories coming out of Paris.
How do "51 Roland-2 missiles, made by a partnership of French and German arms manufacturers," make their merry way via marche parallel to Iraq?
Heavy weapons manufacture is supposed to be highly regulated and requires extensive accounting and tracking.
The French Ministry of Trade should be renamed: The Department of Winks, Nudge, and Nod.
I found this a little curious in the MSNBC report:
"Political conservatives on Capitol Hill are already fuming at this new evidence of possible French perfidy..."
Now just why are only "political conservatives" fuming? Why doesn't this report bother the likes of Nancy Pelosi or Tom Daschle? Why are liberals not fuming? Or at least tongue-clucking, or tepidly fussing?
Curious.

JC, if you read this I've tried contacting you via e-mail, but your addresses all kick.
Sorry about the fake email addresses, i just try to avoid spambots that autosteal these things. My email is mrcollins21@yahoo.com
Couldn't tell you why the liberals aren't fuming, but my guess is because they only care when the US breaks rules.
JC,
Thanks, will be in touch shortly.
