MIQUELON.ORG

Anybody seen this site yet? To my knowledge, it hasn't been blogged yet, but it's pretty funny. Entitled "Stop the France Bashing," it even goes to the trouble of listing Pave France and using WHOIS to find who bought the domain.

Yes let's stop France bashing. After all, why bother? France is bashing itself into the ground without any help.

If you're truly live in France, and you don't like it, then get the fuck out. Easy and simple but don't go at us saying blablabla France, blablabla Paris get the fuck out.

Well, "Hey you", I can't argue with the sentiment although you've got quite a mouth on you for presentation. Do you kiss your mother good-night with that mouth?

I suppose you extend the same equanimity when Americans "get out" of French pet projects like the Kyoto Treaty, The International Treaty of the Seas, International Criminal Court, and a UN to French tastes.

Why, we don't even use foul language when we decline. "No, thank you" suffices.

CM, yes, I came across miquelon.org last month. It's only for serious crybabies. One can't scroll the page without the screen misting with tears. Poor Marc Albert Saint-Aubin du Cormier, who maintains this lachrymatory, every post decries the injustice of Americans holding poor opinions of the French. Why do Americans hold opinions at all?

Check out "THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BOYCOTT FRANCE CAMPAIGN". As truth is rare, I read this with some excitement. Alas, the "truths" given there issue from the confused wellspring of liberal fears. These "truths" bear no correlation to facts. They are "truths" by Mon. Cormier's declaration, and please don't trouble Mon. Cormier further. However, he has helpfully CAPITALIZED all the important hysterical notions.

(Apparently Mike Krempasky & co. got the go-ahead for Pave from George Bush himself! Out of SPITE! No, really. It's a "truth".)

"Does it occur to anyone that France and Jacques Chirac opposed this war because it was wrong, because we were being lied to, and that ulterior motives such as Oil Reserves and the need for moving American bases away from Saudi Arabia were the true reason the world was lied to ?

France did not backstab America, the American Media became a mouthpiece for the American Administration and made sure people were led to believe this. France Bashing was the best distraction the White House could have hoped for.

Remember the Spanish-American War of 1890 and you will undestand the Second Gulf War."

Il liked really this miquelon.org....

Mon. Levis,

You make an appearance. But only to quote from Miquelon.org.

Perhaps it hasn't occurred to Mon. Cormier that France and Jacques Chirac opposed this war because they were lying about ties to Iraq, and that ulterior motives such as French oil contracts and the need to conceal French violations of UNSCRs were the true reason the world was lied to? -- to borrow Mr. Cormier's tortured sentence structure.

Now, how about offering us a substantial argument and not pipe dreams. Facts required, sequiturs appreciated.

Marc is not quoting from Miquelon.org. The latter Web site does not talk about the Iraq war. Marc is just saying what millions of people, who have not heard about Miquelong.org for the most part, think and say.

The French bashing campaign was just there to attract the public's attention away from the true motivations behind the war.

When the French proposed more inspectors, they were right: it would have saved the lives of the coalition troops that die there on a daily basis, plus the increased misery of the Iraqi people.

Do you have anybody in your family or your friend's families currently serving in Iraq?

Man, do they hate being insulted and spitted at. And they seem to hate Bush more every day.

Well, sure, the French were perfidious to want to avoid the unnecessary death of American soldiers by sending more inspectors.

Oh, and by the way, Colin Powell lied to the UN.
