Americans Not Visiting France

The drop in Americans visiting France dropped as much as 80% in the first half of 2003. "Our colleagues across the Atlantic no longer schedule France," said Balderacchi, president of France travel groups.

I think also that the sight of "Mercer", author of the post, dropped as much as 80%, as there's exactly the same post few centimeters below in the page....

He also dropped the Tourism ministry's counter-claim of 30%.
At least Carine had the decency to inlcude that.

Just means I should have my coffee before 10am, I guess.

Does that figure include the Americans going on holiday to Corsica this year? It's a tough call. Hopefully independece won't happen till January first so as to keep the accounting simpler. I pray that there won't be any more of those bombings and fires I have been reading about in the other blogs. It would just make the bookkeeping that much more difficult. Funny, I haven't seen anything in the newspaper or on television. Maybe it's just rumors and nothing is happening at all. Yeah, that's it. You know how the internet is. Yeah, it has to be just rumors.

You made me cry when you said good-bye.
Ain't that a shame...my tears fall like rain
Ain't that a shame...you're the one to blame.
You broke my heart, now we're apart.
Ain't that a shame...my tears fall like rain
Ain't that a shame...you're the one to blame.

Ah, yes you are,

Farewell, good-bye, although i'll cry.
Ain't that a shame...my tears fall like rain
Ain't that a shame...you're the one to blame.
Ah!
You made me cry when you said good-bye.
Ain't that a shame...my tears fall like rain
Ain't that a shame...you're the one to blame.

You cannot imagine how quieter it will be on the french beaches this summer!
How classier the Champs Elysees will seem!
How greater Nice and the entire Cote d'Azur will be with a shortage of Yankees!!!
Stay on your coast, we alredy had enough pollution for this year!

Then don't come whining about the catastrophe that is the French economy. Be ready to say bye-bye to American dollars. Americans represented the second tourist group - after the Japanese - spending the most in France. Whoops!

What was the news in France tonight? The unemployment rising - again - by 1.1% in June? Of course, less tourists, less jobs in the tourism industry. Good news for you, right?

Moron.

Sometimes you trouble me Marquis. Either you are a genius at parody, or you are a complete... Well how did all that pollution get there? It can't be from the Americans, because
they haven't arrived yet (and doesn't look like they will anytime real soon). So it has to be from the French themselves. And it isn't even August yet. Okay, maybe it is August for you right now. But it's still July here. And you have reached your annual pollution quotas already? I hope this won't affect France's commiments to the Kyoto protocols.
