Too Much Energy

This just in: the extraordinarily lazy workforce in France is terrified of the energy drink Red Bull - and might go so far as to ban the drink in Frogland.

I can't say I'm surprised - after all, if you've got a good racket of sloth going, you wouldn't want some young whippersnapper getting a hold of a caffeine drink and actually working for a living - it might make you look bad.

It isn't new !! It has been like this for a long time. I'm not terrified but it's quite useless to drink redbull.

Of course I suppose that you don't know what I'm talking about if you were eating balanced food you should need to drink stuff like that to stay alive.

What a pity...

Sorry : I said "shouldn't need"

Article in the Guardian says “French a nation of pill-poppers”. It says that nearly 1 in 4 French people are “on tranquillizers, anti-depressants, anti-psychotics or other mood-altering prescription drugs”.

Let me see. One in four you say? Well, Pierre is one. Marc is two. Stephanie is three. Sorry, Max, guess that ONE is you!

Here is the article: http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/11/09/1068329422482.html

Dude, You really should try Red Bull as the healthy alternative to anti depressants.

Of course, if your using the hard stuff, you might not notice a Red Bull or two at all.

Nation of speed freaks? I have seen what that would be like. Use to work at an allnight gas station. It isn't pretty.

They're right on the fact that french take to much anit-depressants.

But they are forgeting that we take less pills than american. I saw that fact with my own eyes. People having cupboard full of pills (I guess that half of these are useless). Taking pills because they don't eat balanced food and don't do any sport.
Taking pills before sleeping, before eating... AAAARRGGGG !

"Nation of pill-popers" you said ??

Stephane,

Get a clue about your country. Pill-popping is the only sport your fellow citizens practice. Except for the three block walk down to the pharmacy for their fix, your citizenry's athletic participation is woeful. I know many frenchies (my wife is french) and NONE of them practice any sport whatsoever. I see many kids in the schoolyard playing soccer, but I have seen very few jogging frenchmen.

yes andy, I take pills to counter my double personality.

Hi Max!

Posted by: Max on February 8, 2004 02:21 PM

Never saw frenchmen jogging or doing any sport ? Ican hardly believe you because I saw a lot of joggers every day. And a lot of people practice sport, even for fun...

Max, you are WAY, WAY, WAY out there!
And I am not dead, YET!

I for one would not shed a tear if Red Bull were banned here in the States - it would mean I would never have to see one of those asinine TV commercials of theirs again.

Posted by: Beo on February 11, 2004 01:39 PM

Hmm... no Red Bull commercials. You know, they might have something there.
