Pave correspondent Doug comments: "The Mirror can't POSSIBLY have that many readers."
AFP reports Mr. Edwards' call for every Democratic vote to be counted in Ohio:
Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards vowed that the party would "fight for every vote" after refusing to concede defeat in the key state of Ohio, where the result was deadlocked [51.01% Bush vs. 48.52% Kerry, 100% of the precincts reporting, with only a 2.49% lead why hasn't the Bush campaign conceded this state?].
Jack Chirac, the king of France, put in a teary call to the Kerry camp early this morning demanding that the French vote be included in America's grand tally [Mr. Bush 51% vs. Mr. Kerry 48%].
A Louis Harris poll result published in the newspaper Le Figaro said 71 percent were pro-Kerry and 11 percent pro-Bush. Eighteen percent were uncommitted.
Pointing out that the French poll pre-dated the American tally and represented almost 43 million votes for Mr. Kerry if every French man, woman, child, and domestic pet were counted. Jack then announced an UMP initiative that would recognize the votes of every French man, woman, child, and domestic pet in American elections retroactive to 2004 as determined by a French government of his liking. Le Monde immediately editorialized that prospects for passage of such a bill were "extraordinaire".
"The Americans have missed an excellent opportunity not to vote," Jack sobbed.
He also cited a more reliable tally than the American electorate, the poll held at Harry's New York Bar in Paris:
As per its tradition, the bar late Tuesday asked US passport-carrying patrons to cast a mock ballot for a poll which, since 1924, has been uncannily prescient in picking US presidents. It has been right every election, save in 1976 when Gerald Ford was chosen over Jimmy Carter [Even tradition can't stomach Mr. Carter.].This time, it was Democrat challenger John Kerry who carried the unscientific vote, by 419 votes to 242 votes for incumbent Republican President George W. Bush.
"Americans should respect the pronouncement of this hallowed tradition," Jack whinged. "The French are great respecters of tradition."
When Ohio certifies for Mr. Bush, the Kerry camp will file legal briefs arguing that the final tallies are meaningless since Mr. Kerry was shown winning in the early exit polling. Should that fail, campaign manager, Mary Beth Cahill, says the Kerry camp will give the French approach a shot. "I mean, why not? We want to win. We want better relations with France. It's win-win," she said.
Nice front page.
The BBC did a press review this morning and I didn't see one flattering picture of W in the bunch.
And the Guardian actually put JoKe on its front page!
Delusional, to say the least.
The world is awash in tears.
They can't have what they want, a docile compliant America looking to its betters in Europa for principled guidance and instruction.
It is estimated that in France alone 7.15% of the annual GDP over the next four years will be expended in whining and sulky pouts.
Boo hoo. Boo HOO hoo hoo. Crybabies.

Most delicious was listening to a bunch of European intellectuals on the BBC talking about steps that Bush could take to heal the transatlantic relationship. And steps he could take to re-instate the UN as supreme arbiter. Of course, the concept of dealing with UN corruption never seemed to come up. Nor did the idea that maybe lightening up on the euro-press demonization of Bush might help too.
Why can't anything that upsets the euro-trash we good?
And lo! We hear their lamentations and the wailing of their women and girly-men!
Apologies to Arnold/Conan.
This about nails it
I was a bit surprised by the British press reaction though..they're whining like Frenchmen that we didn't listen to their superior enlightened advice..as much as I hate associating the Brits with the French
Right-thinking.com has a couple of France 2 News clips linked, here and another, showing French reaction to the US election. Predictable anti-US French propaganda masquerading as 'news'
Moptop,
Here's an intriguing topic for the next TV kaffee-klatsch of superior Euro-beings:
What can Europe do to better its relations with the United States?
Just an idea.

I'd like to second that, Damian. :-)
France has shown that they'll side with terrorists before siding with us. France has shown that they'll side with anti-capitalists before siding with us. France has shown that they'll side with North Korea, Michael Moore, Sean Penn, Iran, Bin Ladin, Hizbollah, Hamas, Jemaah Islamiyya, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Saddam Hussein and Ba'athist Syria before siding with us.
France is an enemy of the U.S..
How could you forget Michael Jackson, pro-freedom?
Brits to America: You're Idiots!
This is what the Daily Mirror of London had in it's front page, with Bush's picture:
How can 59.054.087 people be so DUMB?"

He may be a pedophile but he's only a threat to the kids their idiot parents send to. But France's underhanded actions that aid the terrorist cause threatens all.
Or was that a lame attempt at a retort?! ;-)
