Islamic Jihad, Arab Gentlemen's Club

First, a little background:

August 8, 2003 (PNA/MOFA) - France expressed objections to placing Hamas and Islamic Jihad on the European Union(EU)'s list of "terror organizations", according to an Israeli report on Monday. Diplomatic advisor to French President Jacques Chirac, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, told the Israeli ambassador in France, Nissim Zvilli, during a weekend meeting, that there is no evidence that these two organizations are "terror groups."

"If we find that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are indeed terror groups opposed to peace [!], we may have to change the EU's stand," Gordo [sic] conveyed. "However, we mustn't limit ourselves to one, clear cut, position."

Please note the above dateline: August 8, 2003.

Now this:

BODY OF FRENCH HOSTAGE RETURNED FROM BEIRUT

BEIRUT March 7, 2006 (AFP) - The body of a Frenchman [Michel Seurat] taken hostage in Lebanon's civil war and later killed was flown home to France on Tuesday, almost 20 years to the day after the announcement of his execution.

The death of Seurat, a researcher, was announced on March 5, 1986 in a statement from the militant group Islamic Jihad, which said it had executed him.

Please note the responsible group and the date of its announced murder of Michel Suerat, to wit: Islamic Jihad. March 5, 1986.

A good 17 years before M. Gourdault-Montagne's confoundment.

Ah, connect the dots, M. Gourdault-Montagne. The big dots. Connect the big dots.
