Naturally, Pave had no comment when Libération journalists were threatened to be killed unless the French government revoked its ban - still in effect - on Islamic scraves.

Not a word either when France Soir published the Danish cartoons while refusing to cave to pressure, or when Charlie Hebdo used the controversy one step further.

M. Zmx makes serious factual claims against Pave. We take a moment to check the facts and answer those claims.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND: M. Zmx is Pave's resident French crybaby. Regular readers are familiar with his fatuous sniffy boo-hoos -- only for him to be proven wrong on the facts, wrong in his claims, and often with one Zmx post contradicting another. If you are new to Pave, you will soon recognize that M. Zmx speaks with an authority that he does not possess and a superior attitude without foundation.

Pave posted on the abduction of Messrs. Chesnot et Malbrunot here, here -- where M. Zmx has forgotten he posted 5 comments -- and here.

And Pave did not forget French hostage, Ms. Aubenas. We posted her plight here, here, here, here, and here.

Pave also posted on French hostage Bernard Planche here and here. M. Zmx posted a comment in both threads -- though in the latter he would very much like us to forget his uninformed and discredited claims.

Whatever Pave's quarrel with the French state, our posts on French hostages have always been sympathetic to the hostage.

As for the France Soir/Charlie Hebdo Mr. Mo cartoons, Pave wrote these up extensively at the time. The relevant posts can be found here and here. Both these posts were sympathetic to the French publications. On the contrary it was M. Zmx's own government that characterized the French free press as "provocative".

Pave has no apologies to make for its posts or its positions. M. Zmx on the other hand owes several apologies for lying. But what possible worth could an apology from M. Zmx have?

In any event, we do not hold our breath.

I beleive you first accused me of being a "liar" for stating that the Café Press.com's owner (Damian's raison d'être and tee-shirt salesman), is by his own account ("Hate The French: CafePress.com"), a "hate-monger". You denied the word was ever used and called me a "liar". When the matter was brought to your attention again on different posts (check your records, you're very good at that), you simply ignored it. We know what that means.

But no apologiy needed, Damian. I like you just the way you are.

Ah, M. Zmx, he concedes our point but is too delicate to admit the conclusion.

Why M. Zmx thinks he has a winner with Mr. Krempasky's extracurricular business -- here misrepresenting his own original claims -- is anybody's guess. We have answered all this in detail here. Everytime M. Zmx brings it up we refer to the same link. M. Zmx, of course, never provides this link. It is a losing argument for M. Zmx, who wishes apparently to enlarge his renown as not simply an inveterate liar but also an inveterate loser. Anything to waste our time.

We wonder what M. Zmx's thoughtful response is, well, in response to.

Is it in response to our providing the link he did not so that any reader can judge our claim against his?

Is it in response to our recognizing his conceding our points?

Or is it just name-calling, M. Zmx's forensic métier?

Who has shown bad faith? M. Zmx who blusters, makes baseless claims -- repeatedly caught out on his own admissions -- and then puts on a pout? Or Pave, which extends its hospitality, answers his claims with structured argument and facts, and who tolerates his tantrums?

We would remind M. Zmx that he comes to us. We do not seek him out. If he believes us a moron, well, what does that say about his making the time in his busy day to visit Pave, much less comment in the threads? Sounds like a donkey. Posts like a donkey. Pouts like a donkey. What are we to conclude? M. Zmx is a donkey.
