In the BAF video people wearing Che fashion express both their admiration and ignorance of Sr. Guevara. Informed of the facts, they express their admiration for a dreamy notional Che who floats above the messy facts. Che is anything a clueless wannabee revolutionary locked up in the comforts of a socialist paradise wants him to be. And what clueless revolutionaries most want Che to be is themselves, or more correctly, they want to be a Che, a glorious revolutionary, a man of principle without a conscience, someone who kills wantonly for a cause and dies violently for a cause -- without all the baggage of being a mass murderer and the inconveniences of actually dying. Most of all they want to be the Che who looks good on a T-shirt.
