What France is up to here is signaling that she has decided Europe can live with a nuclear Iran -- taking some of the polish off Israel, America's staunch ally -- oh, but don't point those missles at anything near France.

IRAN WITH ATOMIC WEAPONS IS UNACCEPTABLE: CHIRAC

CAIRO April 19, 2006 (AFP) - French President Jacques Chirac...told Egyptian daily Al-Ahram that it was "unacceptable" for Iran to have nuclear weapons... The Iranian leaders "must understand that, for the international community, the prospect of a militarily nuclearized Iran is unacceptable."

Please note the date on the above report.

I would say that what is dangerous about this situation [scil., Iranian uranium enrichment] is not the fact of having a nuclear bomb - having one, maybe a second one a little later, well, that's not very dangerous.
