YOUTHS IN COURT FOR STONING WOMAN TO DEATH

AIX EN PROVENCE April 10, 2007 (AFP) - Two French youths went on trial Tuesday in southern France accused of killing a young Franco-Tunisian woman by stoning her to death.

The body of 23-year-old Ghofrane Haddaoui was discovered on a patch of wasteland in the north of the Mediterranean city of Marseille in October 2004, her skull battered in by rocks. An autopsy revealed that she had received more than 30 blows to the head, powerful enough to rip out several of her teeth.

Two youths, now aged 20 and 19, are charged with the brutal murder. A third, aged 20, is accused of failure to report a crime. One of the murder suspects initially confessed to the crime, saying Haddaoui had refused his advances, before retracting his statement to police. Each now accuses the other of responsibility.

Youths. All the accused have since reached their majority, yet the AFP report uses the masking term "youths".

Not a word about the identities of the accused in Le Monde either, which follows the AFP convention of Muslim-free reporting.

You could read both these articles and never know there was a Muslim in the whole of France at the time of the murder. And France24, the state news service that renders every story with that extra special French something, also presents a Muslim-free story (YOUTHS TRIED FOR STONING WOMAN TO DEATH). It simply reports the stoning was an "act of jealousy".

How do we know Muslims were involved? Well, there is Monia Haddaoui, mother of murdered Ghofrane, who has no trouble identifying the silent authority behind the murderers. We also looked up non-French reports on the murder.

And not just murder, but murder by stoning. Lapidation, something of a novelty homicide in the modern West, is a signature form of Islamic punishment (rajm). Like beheading. But lapidation is a cruel form of sanctioned punishment for sexual crimes* (under the broad rubric of immorality, zina = الزناء). In the topsy-turvy world of misogynic Islam, Mlle. Haddaoui's sexual crime was to commit no sexual crime thereby wounding the amour propre of two sexually active Muslim boys. This is the crime of the "uncovered meat".

As things stand there is no Muslim-on-Muslim crime in France. The national identity precludes the particulars of the French person. Every Frenchie is an identical blob of anonymous Frenchness.
