Big Sky Design opening studio, retail showroom
Wilmington, N.C.-based interior design firm Big Sky Design is opening a new studio and retail showroom in its hometown this fall.
Located in Bradley Creek Station on Oleander Drive, the two-story space will give Big Sky around 4,000 square feet.
The Big Sky Shop + Studio will offer swatch books, wallpaper, and fabric samples; but it will also feature curated vignettes driven by varying themes or color stories — designed to create conversation and to inspire ideas for people’s homes. Each themed vignette will showcase design elements that are otherwise reserved for to-the-trade insiders. The product assortment will include home furnishings, wallpaper, rugs, custom drapery, designer lamps and decorative light fixtures and local artwork. Custom options will be available as well.
The Big Sky Design offices will be on the second floor, where president and principal designer Jennifer Kraner will be located along with the Big Sky Design team. Six designers, two design assistants and the business manager will have a newly designed, branded space, designed entirely by the team. The second floor will feature a library for flooring, wallpaper and fabric samples, workstations for hands-on designing, a conference room and open-concept offices to encourage a creative, collaborative environment.
