Copy of First Tuesday sets March edition

HIGH POINT – First Tuesday’s steering committee has announced additional dates of March 2-3.

After January and February editions, First Tuesday was going to take the following month off in support of High Point Premarket’s original schedule, but Premarket’s postponement until April opened the door for the event to take place in March.

“With all the announced changes of Market dates, First Tuesday will continue to be an option as well as a solution for retailers and vendors to conduct business in a personalized, safe, and market-ready environment showcasing new product introductions,” said Kevin Castellani, a committee member for First Tuesday. “Announcing this new March date only reinforces the committee’s commitment to responding to the industry needs and current market conditions.”

While January and February dates have already been announced and established, committee members believe the addition of March new addition to First Tuesday’s schedule reinforces the need for opening showrooms in High Point during the year; and that ongoing pandemic concerns and government restrictions are changing furniture-industry buying behavior and creating uncertainty in the traditional markets.

With more than 100 showrooms being open every month in High Point, the goal of First Tuesday is to give the industry a platform for new product introduction, filling a void that exists right now.

In addition, new steering committee member Furnituredealer.net will produce a digital guide to support the shopping experience for buyers and sellers during these First Tuesday events. The guide will digitally connect buyers with open showrooms for ease of navigation while shopping for new products. More information regarding this digital guide will be coming shortly.

“We have long focused on helping independent retailers and the vendors that serve that channel successfully do business together, we’re passionate about finding new ways to help drive the business forward for all,” said Emily Severson of FurnitureDealer.Net. “We’re invested in High Point and committed to this industry, and we believe First Tuesday will only continue to grow in importance.”

The High Point Market Authority is also making its Concierge Service available for every First Tuesday event and will support this effort for each announced future date.

In addition to Furnituredealer.net, another new First Tuesday Committee member company is Feizy Rugs, which looks to encourage other accent-oriented companies to open their showrooms in order to make First Tuesday a full home furnishings event.

Next month’s First Tuesday is set for Jan. 5-7, then Feb. 2-4 the following month.

Committee members companies for First Tuesday now include Crown Mark, Feizy, Furnituredealer.net, Jackson Furniture/Catnapper, Klaussner, Kuka Home, Manwah, Moto Motion, Palliser and Sunpan, as well as the High Point Market Authority.
