S2 Resources, J Nitin merger creates new sourcing pathway from India

S2 Resources and J Nitin Merchandising announced a merger, creating a new sourcing option for gift and home products from India.

“The merger of S2R and JNM, two highly reputed agencies in the sourcing space, brings to buyers the benefits of a larger, more diverse vendor base,” said Arun Agarwal, president of S2 in announcing the merger. “Our combined greater technological investments and the expertise of a team of over 70 merchandisers, designers and quality control specialists will create a seamless process from design to delivery.”

Dallas-based S2 Resources and J Nitin Merchandising, headquartered in Gurgaon, India, have offered one-stop solutions to buyers importing furniture, home accents, tabletop, gifts, apparel and accessories.

“The merger, which comes at a time when the industry is facing challenges resulting from travel restrictions, logistics, product development and fulfillment, will now provide important relief to North American buyers and importers trying to adapt to the new normal of international trade,” said Nitin Jain, president of J Nitin.

While India exported to more than 200 countries and regions in 2019, the U.S. has remained the country’s largest export market annually. “Post lockdown, the global recession in general has not only had major repercussions on the lives and livelihoods of Indian craftsmen, factories and exporters,” said Agarwal, “but in the U.S. too, supply chain disruptions have left many of the large retailers and importing companies scrambling for merchandise with a desperate need to fill product shelves.”
